Some of my philosophies as a teacher:

It is my job to teach you what you want to learn, it is not your job to learn what I want to teach you.

When doing pottery it is not about controlling the clay, but rather to achieve control of yourself.

Pottery is the most rewarding of all crafts, but also one of the hardest to master, as it goes against human nature. In our lives we tend to try harder if something goes amiss. If it does not work in pottery we have to ease up, as trying harder only aggravates the clay.
